Google-Proof Trivia - Movie Monday #9

Google-Proof Trivia Movie Monday – Below are five screen shots of five well-known movies. The challenge is to identify a sixth movie based on these screen shots. It’s three-fold. First, identify the movies. Then, identify the relevant cast member from each movie. Once you have both of those, figure out the sixth movie that all five cast members have in common. It's not going to be easy. It’s Google-Proof Trivia. And while you're at it, give the previous one a shot too. It is, so far, unanswered.

Last Night's Recap - PJ's Back!

The rumors of PJ's death have been greatly exaggerated. After some horrendous weather of snow and massive flooding, the man behind the mic at DiOrio's has returned. It was a slower night than usual. NCAA games put a hurtin' on us.  Still, everything went smooth and swiftly.

Margarita Slumber Party started off with a bang, but couldn't keep up the momentum. They ended up in third place. Puke and Rally tried hard, but fell short by six points for second place. Even Hot Wings Trump Germanwings took away the win with a total of 77 points and bragging rights for the week.

Oh, and here's the Bilby, the Australian symbol for Easter.

Last Night's Recap - March 25, 2015

Last night saw the return of Movie Title Mashup, a frequently-requested round. So frequently-requested, when we broke the news on Facebook, we quickly got a request for ANOTHER Movie Title Mashup for an upcoming Sunday night game.

In the final round, we found out about Australia's Blue Mountains National Park and America's World War II Valor in the Pacific National Monument(s).

Now for some actor-inspired Gorillaz.

Last Night's Recap - March 24, 2015

After tons of weather issues and last week's cancellation for St. Patrick's Day, we were glad to be back last night at The Granville and Molly Malone's. The night was filled with Pop Culture Trivia, a random audio round, and some basic Indiana Jones chronology.

The winning teams from both bars were quite apparent from early on. Over at The Granville, Honeybadgers took the win. At Molly's a rowdy Werewolves, Not Scarewolves walked away victorious, even though they were about to riot during the "Vanity Fair" question. Becky Sharp is the heroine, not Becky Thatcher. That's a different book altogether.

And here's that groundbreaking (at least in 1951) scene from Royal Wedding.

Four Pegs Recap 3-22-15

We had another great outing of trivia at Four Pegs last night. All of our teams had a great start right out of the gate, including our new teams, round one was a good round for all of our teams.  We even saw the return of one of our first teams to play trivia with us at Four Pegs. Unfortunately, several of the teams hit rocky times after the first round bringing down their scores. That is except our winner, Beercat. They started strong and never looked back controlling the game from start to finish. This continues their streak of wins.

We also learned a little bit about a man named Jonas Grumby, but you may know him as the skipper. Captain of the S.S. Minnow.

Fun Fact Friday Part VI - Hey, We Wrote That!

The newest exhibit at Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory is sponsored by Topps trading cards. The show opened March 14 and runs through October 4, 2015. The exhibit features iconic baseball cards as well as collectible cards from pop culture staples like Star Wars, Batman, Superman, Indiana Jones, Elvis, and the Beatles.

The folks at Louisville Trivia are proud to be a small part of the exhibit. Aside from all the cards and pop culture paraphernalia, there will be a trivia program twice a day during the museum's busy season. We were honored to help write more than 125 questions for the trivia games. Designed to mirror the game Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, one program will feature baseball trivia and the other will feature pop culture trivia.

Each game consists of nine questions (you know, like nine innings), each one getting progressively harder. If you're picked as a player and you make it through all nine innings, you'll get a free personalized Louisville Slugger bat. If you make it out to the museum, make us proud!

Four Pegs Recap 3-15-15

We had another beautiful spring like day yesterday and this kept our numbers lower than they have been. We did have several devoted teams that made it out last night and even some new teams. Round 1 was a great round overall for most teams. Several of those teams were able to keep that momentum going through out the rest of the rounds. Our elemental round was another crowd favorite with several teams getting most of the correct answers with one team, La Familia, getting them all correct. We had a tie going into the last round, but once again our winners, Beercat, pulled off another victory. Congratulations!

Four Pegs Recap 3-8-15

Last night had a smaller crowd due to either the time change or the spring-like weather. Either way it was great to see the teams that showed up. The first couple of rounds went well for everyone with several perfect scores in the picture round. After that the scores dipped. The first team to rebound was our winner. It was close, the final score came down to one answer. After some additional calculating on the host's end of things Beercat was crowned the winner.

Four Pegs Recap - 3-1-15

Last night got off to a rocky start. After some research it was decided to grant every team points for the first question of the game, much to the teams' approval. The picture round brought a lot of funny answers, not all of them correct, but funny none the less. Round 5, "Welcome to the Club," was a little rough for the teams, but everyone powered through. Our winning team was Forever Alone & Friends.

Congratulations to our winners and all the teams that came out.
